We provide information, support and advice for the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in the surrounding areas including Scarborough and Whitby We also provide • Funding advice • Information about the best legal structure for a group • Assistance in registering as a charity • Help with recruiting and managing volunteers (through our Volunteer Centre) • Specific support for rural groups • Support for social enterprises • Support for self-help groups • Organisational Health Checks to ensure that a group has all necessary policies and procedures • Support with collaboration and partnership
We identify and fill gaps by monitoring what local communities need and what services are available. We work with local groups to meet that need and fill any gaps. We provide a voice by ensuring that the views of local voluntary and community groups are heard. We raise standards by providing access to information and advice, ensuring that voluntary and community groups have the knowledge, skills and resources to support local people. In addition, we can link groups up to: • Employment Advice Service of the North Yorkshire & York Forum • Community Accounting Network North Yorkshire (CANNY) • Training Opportunities • Further specialist support as required |
